Guided by the ideals of scientific rationalism and humanism, Raja Rammohan started the Dharma Reform Movement. That is why he is called 'Erasmus of modern India'. The religious movement he founded was the Brahmo movement.Enlightened by the light of western education and culture, Rammohan Roy created a new religious thought within Hinduism. In the 19th century Hinduism was pagan in spirit and ritualistic. His protest was against it. He strongly condemned the caste nature of Hinduism and thought of establishing monotheism.


In 1809 AD he "Gift to Monotheists" published a booklet called He also criticizes the superstitions and dark beliefs of Christianity. The main message of Christianity. Christian public. Islam gave a strong message about destiny. Islam religion means only Islamic and everyone else is an infidel. The members of this meeting are Dwarkanath Tagore Prasanna Kumar Tagore Ramchandra Vidyabagish etc.


On August 20, 1828, Rammohan founded the "Brahmo Sabha". This Brahmin meeting came to be known as Brahmo Samaj in 1830 AD. After the death of Rammohan the Brahmin movement became somewhat stagnant. Devendranath Tagore set the Brahmin movement in motion. He took initiatives to spread the Brahmin religion. Brahma organized the movement into an organized religion. During his time with Devendranath, Keshavachandra Sen gave an all-India form to the Brahmin movement. Eminent orator and organizer Keshavchandra Baman breathed new life into the movement.
